Problems

  • Missing photo title, date, and location for most photos uploaded via the mobile app

  • ‘Edit photo info’ option is hidden under three-dot ‘More’ menu (20k photos are uploaded daily, yet only 1k use ‘Edit photo info’)

  • Long and generic name automatically assigned to a photo if the user doesn’t name it themselves

  • ‘Photo details’ and ‘Edit photo info’ are found in separate locations within the app (just 5 users daily view ‘Photo details’)

Goals

  • Increase the number of users adding photo information by creating a visible, on-screen editable component that appears at the bottom of each photo

  • Give users more value (photo details) while viewing their photos

  • Improve the editing form UX with an autocomplete location field and an enlarged photo title
